AccuSoft Imaging Technology Tapped by DHS US-VISIT Program
August 23 - AccuSoft Corporation today announced that its ImageGear imaging technology is being used by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as part of its US-VISIT border protection program.
AccuSoft ImageGear allows the biometric images downloaded into the US-VISIT software application to be automatically condensed and saved to a common file format and size.
The images are then passed to a DHS back-end database system --IDENT -- for analysis, all in a matter of seconds, AccuSoft said. US-VISIT entry procedures are currently in place at 115 airports and 14 seaports. Last year, the program was expanded to the 50 busiest land ports of entry, with further expansion planned throughout this year.
"Homeland Security has become a number one priority for the U.S., and we are proud that ImageGear is part of such a critical, national initiative," said Tom Leone, president, AccuSoft Corporation.
