August 10, 2005 - Raytheon Company has delivered its 25,000th AN/PAS-13 Thermal Weapon Sight (TWS) to U.S. Army officials from Program Executive Office Soldier as part of a production ramp-up to serve "urgent" needs in the Middle East, the company said today. Read more.
Alied Defense Group has been tapped to provide Battlefield Effects Simulator (BES) systems for the U.S. Army, winning a contract that could provide $10.99 million in orders. The contract was awarded to Allied Technology, a consortium of wholly owned subsidiaries of the Allied Defense Group, including Titan Dynamics Systems, the developer of the BES system. Work on the contract will be performed in Marshall, Texas, by Titan. Read more... General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin on Schedule for Developing Army's WIN-T Communications Program General Dynamics C4 Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics, and Lockheed Martin today said they performed the preliminary design review on the Army's Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T) program.
WIN-T is the Army's next-generation battlefield communications network. The program, currently estimated to be worth $7 billion through 2018, was awarded to a joint General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin team in September 2004. Read more.
General Dynamics today said its General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems business unit has been awarded a contract extension to continue its support of the U.S. Joint Forces Command's Joint Experimentation Program and Joint Futures Lab. The contract is valued at $92 million. Work will be performed in Suffolk, Va., and includes engineering, technical and administrative services for joint concept development and prototyping.
The award is for the second-year option on a five-year contract awarded in February 2004, extending the term of the original contract until July 2006. The total value of the contract to date, including this option, is $182 million.
